Board Meeting Minutes - January 20, 2022

Present:

Call to Order:

Vice President Dakota Collins called the meeting to order at 12:02 p.m.

Old Business

• Reviewed Minutes from the Thursday, November 18, 2021 meeting:
• Call for motion to approve by: Bridget Hazelbaker
• Seconded by: Gillis King and approved by the Board.

New Business:

With Jane Holman's upcoming retirement a Search Task Force (Jenie, Dakota, Bridget, Richard and Lynn) was presented to look at Waynet and its future with a new leader. Asking the question whether Waynet might change and evolve into something new or stay the same. The group plans to start meeting in February.

Balance Sheet Review

• Income: November $3,285.00 and December $240.00
• Expenses: November $1,703.32 and December $1,785.27
• Balance: $13,097.30 as of December 30, 2021

Cash Flow:

Proposed budget 2022:

Accepted as read.

Director's Report:

• Belden now a member
• Lost one member, Insight Design,
• Received credit from Amazon, $12.75
• Purchase of a toner cartridge, $75
• Camera fixed, $435

Board had asked Jane to review Waynet's Privacy Policy (https://www.waynet.org/waynet/privacy.htm) And Terms of Service (https://www.waynet.org/waynet/termsofservice.htm)

She reported that unfortunately, we won't be able to use the free version of privacy and terms generators, as we collect quite a bit of information and use several 3rd party services, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, MailChimp, JotForm, etc. that also collect information. Our social media sites are also connected and need to be considered.

She gave TermsFeed (https://www.termsfeed.com/) a quick run through and it looks like our policy will run us somewhere between $140 to $200.

Jane reported that Waynet's Google analytics, were are going down on views, primary reason is that our web site is not mobile friendly.

It would cost us $15,000+ to be mobile compatible.

It was suggested that we might need to be sure to use more hashtags on social media posts.

Bridget reported that RHS uses Google calendars as it is more available to visitors to the page.

It was suggested we consider collaborating with another area group or members to see if any of them were looking into updating their web sites to be more mobile friendly and that we might share the expenses of hiring someone to update our website.

It was discussed and agreed that today it is all about photos and videos in order to draw more attention to your social media sites.

More discussion will be added to the next meeting on how to push us forward to be more apparent on social media and for the community
