The Hagerstown Museum and Arts Place |
The Hagerstown Museum and Arts Place, at the corner of Main and Perry Streets in Hagerstown, Indiana is a unique blend of community history and service to the community. The Museum is housed in the I.O.O.F. Lodge Hall, where the children of Hagerstown used to roller skate on the hardwood floors on the second floor. In addition to a stage, the building features a wrap-around mural by Charles Newcomb and the large lodge meeting room space on the third floor. Museum collections include artifacts from Perfect Circle and Ralph Teetor, inventor of cruise control, in additional to other area activities and citizens of interest. The Arts Place currently offers painting classes on Saturday for adults and afterschool for children. Call (765) 489-4005 for current times and information. |
