Miss Flossy M. Neff

Miss Flossy M. NeffBefore her death in early 1976, Miss Flossy M. Neff had composed much of the material used in the 1776-1976 Greens Fork Gazette. Although 93 years old, her material was not only historic in scope but interesting in composition.

Miss Neff was a native of Centerville but a graduate of Greens Fork High School. She had musical and teacher’s training at DePaul University, Earlham College, Ball State University and the University of Michigan. She taught music at Hagerstown, Greens Fork and Whitewater high schools.

For 75 years she served as organist the for the Greens Fork Methodist Church and taught Sunday School there for the same number of years.

She taught piano and organ at her home in Greens Fork after retiring from school teaching.

Her literary work consisted of not only historical articles but also of poetry, many of which were published in Sunshine and other magazines.

It is an honor to dedicate this edition to her.
