Mrs. Evans was born in 1824 in Maine.  She moved to Richmond, Indiana in 1849 to teach at the Friends Boarding School (that later became Earlham College.  In 1855 she was married to Isaac P. Evans.  She died in 1900 in Ramallah, Palestine.
